What are some Myths & Misunderstandings about Hypnosis?

Loss of Consciousness and Surrender of Will

These are common beliefs yet far from the truth. You are actually more aware, and remain in total control at all times. Now you may drift away in your thoughts and suddenly question if you heard everything I have said, but the mind catches everything, so while you doubt if you did, your mind knows it all. You will not accept any suggestion that is not acceptable to you. In other words if I were to suggest to you that you throw a snowball at your brother and you think that is bad, then you won't do it!

Fear of not being revived

Since the client actually induces the trance themselves, they can readily revive themselves when necessary. I was once told of a doctor, seeing our head of the guild for hypnosis, was afraid of this very thing. The hypnotist asked him, in his 20 some years of practice in private and at a hospital, how many people had been rushed in because they were stuck in hypnosis..... he quickly had to agree there were none! One of two things would happen if I were to leave the room while you were in hypnosis you would either fall asleep or "wake up."

Fear of revealing all your secrets

You are aware of all that you do and say while under the state of hypnosis. You ultimately possess control over yourself. If you can lie while conscious you can also lie while in the state of hypnosis. If you are good at keeping secrets hypnosis will not change that, unless you choose otherwise.

Fear of being made to do something foolish

I'm a Certified Consulting Hypnotist, not a Hypnotist in the entertainment business. I am here to assist you in your self help progress not play games. This is explained more when you read more About Louise. I show examples from my own personal experience with stage hypnosis.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is the application of hypnotic techniques in such a way as to bring about beneficial change. An outside influence - the Hypnotist - assists in activating the inner resources of a person - the Client - in order to achieve realistic goals.

You are led by means of the hypnotist's gentle guiding voice, into a state where your body and mind are relaxed and nearly asleep, but remain fully aware. This assists the hypnotist to work with you to induce beneficial changes.
